Profile, Bruce Handmer:
Bruce Handmer is the founder and CEO of The Friday Group, a management consulting company which incorporates Friday Search and Friday Communications. Before launching this business, Bruce was a Partner at Moss & Hooper Pty Ltd, a technology focused management consulting and recruitment firm. Prior to this Bruce was an Associate at Spencer Stuart & Associates’ Sydney office. He joined Spencer Stuart in 1997 from the international advertising and recruitment firm Austin Knight Pty Ltd, where he held the role of Managing Director. Prior to that Bruce held a Regional VP position with the global computer company, Memorex Telex.
Bruce’s career started at IBM. He has also founded, built and sold a number of companies in computer, marketing and technical services along with numerous “change” and interim management roles including GM of an FMCG manufacturer and Executive and HR Advisor to AREVA Solar Inc & P/L.
Bruce holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) from the University of Sydney, is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, has completed and/or taught courses in Change Management, SPC & TQM, Class A Manufacturing, OH&S, Sales & Marketing, Finance and Business Administration. He was a member of the Sunengy Advisory Board, an advisor to other boards including Barefoot Power, on the North Sydney Council Environment Reference Committee, and is past President of both Kambala and The Scots’ College’s Parent Associations. Bruce has served as a Non executive board member and Treasurer of NFP WestWords, Western Sydney’s literature development organisation for young people.
Profile, Paul Lane:
Paul Lane has been part of The Friday Group team for over ten years, leading strategic business reviews and planning, HR advisory, and executive team audits for our clients, as well as carrying out executive searches.
Before joining The Friday Group, Paul was the Group Human Resources Manager at Xstrata Sydney. Prior to this Paul was an Associate at Moss and Hooper, a management consultancy, which he joined after working with Coca-Cola Amatil as a senior IT Manager. Before that, Paul had been the Australian Manager of Hays Computer Systems.
Paul was awarded the New Zealand Computer Society Prize on graduation and is a Member of the Australian Human Resources Institute (MAHRI). Paul is an active supporter and volunteer to community organisations and individuals as well as his role as a director and President of a significant Australian charity.
